Healthcare continued its trend towards growth in employment by adding 12,000 jobs in February, according to a release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Total seasonally adjusted employment for healthcare, which includes hospitals, ambulatory care centers, and nursing and residential care facilities, was 13.67 million, up from 13.65 million in Jan. 2010.
Ambulatory healthcare services added 6,700 jobs in February, with total seasonally adjusted employment at 5.86 million.
Physicians' offices added 900 jobs, with total seasonally adjusted employment at 2.31 million for Feb. 2010.
Hospitals added 1,300 jobs in February, with total seasonally adjusted employment at 4.703 million.
