Daily Recipe: Grilled Pineapple with Coconut Black Sticky Rice

While Tuesdays are reserved for tacos, last night was a night at the ball park with hot dogs and peanuts, tonight we're excited to continue a new practice of chowing down on some delicious Thai food. We like to think we always have time to make said delicacies, but most times we just opt for take out and a night of must see TV. There is a little place down the street that has the best grilled pineapple for dessert. That said, it'd be nice to know how to make our own so we can have it more frequently.

If you were as lucky as a few of us around the WSi headquarters, you'll be at Coors Field tonight rooting the Rockies to hopefully a win over the Mets from New York. If not, no worries. There are plenty of games. In the meantime, have a few friends over to watch, grill up some brats and chow down! Maybe add a plate of BLT dip to the mix, too. You know, it's up to you.

Daily Recipe: Grilled Steak and Eggs with Beer and Molasses

If you ever find an excuse to eat steak, chances are, it's a good excuse. Nothing beat a slab or marinated meat, rich in taste and hearty goodness. When you add the simple pleasure of an egg over-easy to the equation, things just get better. Now take that combo, add beer, and you've entered a realm sweeter than life itself.

Slow and Steady: The name of the economic recovery game

Slow and Steady: The name of the economic recovery game

Though the light at the end of the metaphoric tunnel is still but a candle flickering in the wind, March 2010 brought with it an improved job market number. While we're far from out of the woods in terms of a strong economy yet again and a decreasing unemployment rate, small improvements like this, if they continue, will add up in the end. Slow and steady wins the race, right? The tortoise thought so, and we saw how that panned out for him.

As if we need to drive it home anymore, we must remind you again today is opening day for the Rockies at Coors Field. The food is even mentioned in that one song they sing during the game...

Daily Recipe: The Grilled Cheese for the Grown Up

Daily Recipe: The Grilled Cheese for the Grown Up

There's a semi-hilarious commercial on the airwaves currently where a group of friends have gathered at a greasy spoon, each "dude" ordering a whopping burger, save for one. Seems this bloke wants a grilled cheese, much to the chagrin of his manly contingent. It comes with a child's place mat, complete with maze and other fun activities. Great, right? Well, not if you're trying to impress the cute blond at the neighboring table. The commercial then turns into an ad for a new adult sized grilled cheese sandwich at a fast food chain, but you don't have to wait in a drive thru for your own grown up grilled cheese. Try this double-decker and show them who's boss.

Daily Recipe: French Onion Soup

Daily Recipe: French Onion Soup

The thing about a good French Onion Soup is that it looks like it took the better part of two hours hour to prepare. You have that hot, steamy goodness under a piece of quickly-softening bread and a baked-on blend of cheese covering the entire top of the bowl. While some restaurants want you to believe it does actually take all that time, it really doesn't have to. Tonight, spoil yourself with a bowl, and do so in a fraction of the time you originally thought.

Fruita: The first Colorado city to tax pot

Fruita: The first Colorado city to tax pot

Seemingly, this is what should have happened initially when the legalization of medicinal marijuana was first passed, but the small agricultural town of Fruita, CO took the first step and is now taxing pot and all paraphernalia. They expect to raise a good deal of money by doing so, and hopefully other cities follow suit.

Daily Recipe: Garlic Knots

Daily Recipe: Garlic Knots

Granted a good batch of garlic knots does not an entire meal make, they sure do augment a hot pizza pie better than anything else, in our humble opinion. And seeing as how Lost is on this evening, and that is reason enough to order a half pepperoni/half sausage, we thought, "To be fair, we'll make the garlic knots." Whether or not this is actually going to happen is yet to be seen, but it's good to know we at least have a recipe for it.

Daily Recipe: Ham Club Sandwich Sliders

Easter Sunday has come and gone, but that in no way means the food has. Like many families, you're probably in need of a second fridge for all the leftovers. Personally, we had three different chicken plates at dinner, but we know the lot of you maybe had the traditional ham. And like the reusing of the Easter eggs, that ham can be put to good use too.

Daily Recipe: More eggs? Scramble them with Canadian Bacon

We understand: Deviled eggs aren't everyone's cup of tea. Maybe it's the "devil" connotation on Easter Sunday that gets you. Maybe you just plain don't like the snack. That doesn't mean you still can't put dyed eggs to good use. You have to eat a delicious and hearty breakfast after the hunt, no? Why not take those eggs, scramble them, add some Canadian bacon, and set it all atop a few pieces of multigrain toast? Bam! Easy.

The thrill of the hunt is sometimes more exciting than the actual end result. In this case, the act of searching for Easter eggs this Sunday is much more fun than the thought of ending up with a basket full of warm hard-boiled eggs. Fear not. Once that hunt ends, grab them from the bed of plastic grass and whip up a batch of deviled eggs. Nothing goes to waste that way, and you end up with a delicious snack.

"Happy"ness is in the eye of the beholder

"Happy"ness is in the eye of the beholder

In what can only be summed up with, "Wow, that's slightly disturbing," an experiment to see what would happen if a McDonald's Happy Meal was left out for a year seems to have gone terribly...right? Sure, the meat shriveled and the bun went completely stale, but the meal seemed to still hold the properties prime for a photo shoot. Eating it now would not be in anyone's best interest, but that should go without saying.

Daily Recipe: Liquid Iron

Daily Recipe: Liquid Iron

Growing up, we were never one for a heaping plate of spinach. The name alone does not conjure up the tastiest of side dishes, and the look of those wet and wilted leaves were none-too-appetizing. But, if you wanted to be strong like Popeye, spinach was a must. Now that we're a little wiser, we see the benefits of the veggie a bit clearer. However, we can now get it via liquid form. Liquid Iron - the name says it all, no?
