How can you generate an eye-catching physical therapy resume? Examine six keys that can enhance your resume to the top of the pile and assist in landing an interview.
1. Contact Information
Your name, contact phone number, email address, and LinkedIn profile link should appear at the top of the page. For security and privacy reasons, you might not want to include your mailing address.
2. Summary
If your current physical therapist resume has an Objective section, remove it. Supplant it with a summary of your qualifications and accomplishments applicable to the role you want. Use the job description to include the top qualifications you have that also are required for the position. You can include:

Patient base
People skills
Technical skills
Types of facilities you’ve worked in
Here’s an example:
An accomplished physical therapist with eight years of experience in rehabilitation, hospital, and private practice facilities. Licensure in the states of CO and UT, and cardiovascular and pulmonary certification. Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from a CAPTE-accredited program. Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Focused on increasing recovery rates through a high standard of healthcare and by assisting patients to relax and employ in their treatment plan.

3. Work Experience
Your work experience should be listed in reversed sequential order. Instead of listing job duties, focus on select contributions that demonstrate your qualifications for this physical therapist position. For each of your roles, include a list of three to four preferred contributions.
4. Physical Therapist Education
Begin with your most current education. This segment should include:
Institution attended
Subject studied
Degrees or certifications
Location
Graduation dates
High grades, awards, or honors
5. Activities and Memberships
Use action verbs to describe your involvement in the following:
Internships
Community service
Volunteer work
Memberships in professional associations
6. Keywords
As you develop every segment of your resume, focus on keywords and key phrases. Many employers, staffing agencies, and search engines scan resumes for precise keywords and key phrases which are related to the job description. Use the job classification to compose a resume that includes keywords targeted to the position.
